Spoilers and a New Form ahead.

Kamen Rider Kiva Episode 18: Quartet: Listen to Your Heart's Voice
IXA steals the Garulu saber while Kivat-Bat talks about... Thomas Edison? Okay.
Kiva is knocked backwards, and gets shot up by IXA. The Seastar Fangire interferes, laughing maniacally. He then disappears, causing IXA to go mad. He shoots wildly, then, after reverting to Nago, he punches a nearby wall, smashing his fist into a blood pulp.
Wataru, battered and bruised, runs from the battle and falls down a hill.
"I don't want to fight anymore!"
1986. Otoya and Jirô are going at it in the pool hall. Mami watches on, bored. Jirô shows off how good he is, and Otoya counters by breaking his pool cue. He sinks the 8ball in too early, but the 9 follows, and he wins the game. Jirô is quite angry. Mami is impressed.
2008. Shima (at the gym, where else) talks with Megumi about Mami. Megumi rushes off, leaving Shima behind. Not like it really matters to him, he can get back to exercisin'!
Mami is practicing on the lake, when she is attacked by the Seastar Fangire. Bloody Rose plays, but Wataru has no desire to go and fight. Seastar Fangire menaces Mami, but Megumi comes to her rescue. Kivat yells at Wataru, who takes the violin and prepares to smash it... but can't. Kivat Bat somehow manages to knock himself out following this. They're trying, they really are, but he's just not going to be Momotaros 2.0, guys.
Seastar Fangire beats up Megumi, but Nago shows up, looking absolutely crazed. He transforms.
"Henshin!"
IXA savagely attacks the Fangire, who reverts to human form of Sakaguchi, laughing insanely. Nago demands his button. But the police arrive to take Sakaguchi away. Nago, enraged, attacks them, and they must pin him down.
Wataru sits silently at home...
1986. Otoya demans the return of IXA, but Jirô wants to play another game. Yuri arrives, angry with Otoya for neglecting his duties to Mami. Jirô just rushes about about putting every ball in a pocket, obsessed with beating the elder Kurenai.
Otoya runs after Mami, who ran out in anger at him. He tries to cool her down, with little luck. And he gets the episode title in here talking about "listening to her heart's voice." He mentions an audition tomorrow, at which Mami will play.
2008. Shima & Megumi talk in the cafe when Wataru arrives. Magumi mentions that Mami was injured.
Sakaguchi is being led away from the cops, but a mysterious masked man knocks them all out and gets in the driver's seat. It's Nago!
1986. Otoya and Yuri are at the audition, although Otoya has been falling asleep. Yuri smacks him when Mami comes on. She plays proficiently, but Otoya falls alseep again. Unfortunately, a string on the violin breaks, but Mami plays on, accomodating with what she has. She finishes, and impresses the judges.
They later take her to a sceninc mountain view out in the countryside. Mami actually thinks Otoya might be a "Great Teacher" after all.
2008. Wataru goes to view Mami training, but her injured hand prevents her from firing any arrows. Wataru talks about the "thing I don't want to do anymore" and Mami mentions how she once would have played violins, but she "listened to that person" and gave it up.
1986. Otoya plays at the mountainside, as Mami listens. She's so impressed, she decides that she can never match it, and she would be better off giving up. Otoya is pleased, Yuri is shocked. Mami says that she now knows she really never wanted to play the violin in the first place, in spite of her skill. Otoya says this is the final lesson, for her to "to listen to her heart's voice."
2008. Mami says these words to Wataru, who considers them.
Nago rips his button off of Sakaguchi. It's all he cares about. Even Sakaguchi has grown disturbed by the bounty hunter, and shoves him away. Nago just laughs insanely as he falls to the ground, and adds it to his necklace.
Kivat tells Wataru to remember all his powers (well, forms) and the good he has done, and our hero decides he must listen to his heart's voice as well. The Bloody Rose plays, and Kivat and Wataru race into action.
Mami tries to practice, but Seastar Fangire attacks her again. She shoots aroows right into him, but they don't phase him at all.
Wataru runs along the lake.
"Henshin!"
Wataru becomes Kiva (Kiva Form) and attacks the Seastar Fangire viciously. Kivat is still ill, however, and the tables quickly turn. Seastar Fangire shoots lighting blasts at the Rider, knocking him back. So Kiva pulls out all three of his assist monster Fuestles. Garulu, Basshaa, and Dogga are all summoned. The three weapons go to Kiva, and his arms and chest all change. His right arm becomes that of Basshaa Form, his left arm that of Garulu Form, and his chest is now Dogga Form's.
He is now Kiva DoGaBaKi Form!
Kiva uses the Dogga Hammer, the Basshaa Magnum, and the Garulu Saber against the monster, thrashing him easily. Finally, he uses the Darkness Moon Break (which looks considerably cool as it's all a real stunt now) and destroys the monster. Castle Dran swings by to eat the leftovers.
Mami hits the bull's eye as Wataru & Megumi watch on. Megumi talks of how she did the thing she really wanted to do in life. Wataru wonders who had told her about the voice of her heart...
NEXT TIME: Kengo's back! Rook's back! Wataru gets spoon/chopstick-fed!
***
Krazee Nago is epic, I was starting to think that Mami was better off with Megumi fighting for her life. Nago just might be the most insane rider ever. He's surpassed Kusaka in my book, that's for sure.
ReplyDeleteI was impressed with Mami's survival skills this episode, sure the arrows didn't phaze the Fangire. But at least she actually you know, Dodged the fangs of doom and TRIED to defend herself.
Ah, so that's what the '86 story line was all about. I kinda got it when I watched it, but my lack of japanese literacy kinda made that hard to get.
Gotta love Otoya's reaction when he won the pool game!
Thanks for filling in the blanks that I missed!
First of all, good birthday ][i know, it's tomorrow, but i'll not be online so...]:-)
ReplyDelete2] when the guys were at the pool, i really tot Jiro was goin to transform. As usual, he's an awesome actor.
3] Nago, we've really lost him, it seems. Poor guy.
4] Next episode, maybe it's just me, but seems Wataru was actin like Otoya. Dont know what's goin on, but it's blatantly Otoyized.
