Put it in Motion

Okay, the Kiva review thing's coming up soon. Until then:

Motion Revive Series Volume 6

Slated for a late December 2008 release, it's another volume of the wildly-successful Motion Revive Series Kamen Rider candy toy series, number 6 to be exact. Candy Toy lines come and go, so it's nice to see one actually sticking around for a while (the last two "motion" lines tanked after one set each.)

Especially nice, since these? Are pretty awesome. They've honestly been putting bigger lines to shame with the variety of characters and consistent quality. 5 sets down and I've loved 'em all. Up until the recent FiguArts versions, it was this series that gave us the best-yet versions of the Hopper bros., plus the secret figures (which are thankfully easy to get) are always pretty awesome. And they come with a bunch of accessories; weapons, multiple hands, stuff like that. In the last set alone, we got both original versions of IXA with basically all his weaponry between the two of them. Someone should send the memo up to the Sôchaku-Henshin people.

Now, the sixth volume will give us something old and something new. Kiva is represented by Rising IXA and Kiva Emperor Form, the latter of which will include "a sword" according to the pic there. In other words, the thing from the toy picture that's been floating around for a while now (and appears in shaded-out form in the kiddie mags this month.) Kamen Rider Kuuga gets in on the action with two Rising Forms, Mighty & Pegasus. And then there's... Blade! Hey, why not, since they just did Hibiki and have sort of been working backwards. It will be interesting to see how this Blade stacks up with the older version from his own one-set "Motion" series.

Given that these things tend to have 6 figures plus a secret one, there's still one more regular figure to be revealed. I'm predicting either Saga, Garren, another Kuuga form, or someone completely out of left field. As for the secret figure, it could be Blade Jack Form, a Shocker Rider (finally?), another Kuuga form, or again, someone completely out of left field. We'll see!

Artworks Monsters Peacock Undead

MegaHouse is back on the attack with more nifty Artworks Monsters, and it's time for another round of Undead from Kamen Rider Blade. Finally, the original big birdman himself, Peacock Undead, along with the morally-ambiguous Tiger Undead, are seeing AWM incarnations. Isaka's alter-ego ranks as one of my favorite Rider villains ever, so I'm looking forward to this.

Edit: Or at least I was, until a larger scan of the entire page reveals that Peacock Undead may, in fact, turn out to be a Figure-Oh Magazine exclusive. @#$%! (-_-)

No pics of Tiger yet, but here's da Peacock:

I did manage to get the Figure-Oh Garren/Peacock Undead RH exclusive figures eventually, so I hope I'll either be able to score one of these or he'll come out in a general release later. Because dammit, there needs to be more Undead toys!

Jack Form of all Trades

S.I.C. Blade Jack Form & Leangle
Yeah, you've seen them before, but here's a reminder: the S.I.C. Blade Jack Form & Leangle two-pack is coming in March. I've found the Garren & Chalice/Joker set to be surprisingly hard to find, so I expect to see this one go fast as well.

On a related note, apparently Hobby Japan (the magazine) is doing what they did with the Ryuki S.I.C. figures and including "Cards" (actually pictures that you then cut out or copy & print to make the cards) in the monthly S.I.C. column. Unlike the Ryuki ones, which looked different than the TV Advent Cards (a bit more simple and archaic) the Rouze ones are apparently identical to the TV versions. They generally due one set a month (i.e., they did Alternative Zero & Ryuga when they came out one month, then Tiger & Zolda, etc.) around the time the sets are out, so the current issue should probably have either Blade/Chalice or Leangle/Garren (I think that's how they split them up.)

More Blade SICage

SIC Chalice & Garren
SIC Leangle & Blade Jack Form

(Pics from cowspot.net)

You've seen the prototypes, now the finished figures are on the way. Garren & Chalice will be sold together, and Chalice comes with additional parts to turn him into Joker and even regular ol' Mantis Undead (who has a different belt, basically.) No word yet on whether you can make Garren into Garren Jack Form, but...

Leangle will apparently be sold along with Blade Jack Form, so it's possible that Garren Jack Form will also be a seperate figure, maybe coming out along with Wild Chalice (but hopefully not as hard-to-get, expensive exclusives.)

Now that they've done a lot of the newer Riders, I'd like to see SIC go back and at least do X-Rider & Stronger, so we can have the original 7 Riders. I mean hey, they already did Stronger in the smaller scale SIC figures, why not go all the way? At least squeeze them in somewhere along with the highly-probably upcoming Kabuto/Den-O-based SIC figures.

Draw your own conclusions

Me, myself, and I

If I remember correctly, this was a pic taken for a Kamen Rider Blade character calendar, but don't quote me on that one. I have to say though, it's a neat picture, but it makes me wonder if Aikawa Hajime/Kamen Rider Chalice was having an identity crisis or something. Then again...he kinda often did, so I guess it's just business as usual.

And hey- this makes 70 posts on this blog! Just 30 more until 100, and then...I guess I'll celebrate or something. Anyway, tomorrow's Friday, so expect some bigger stuff then.
