Den-O to go waaaaay back for the Movie!

Let's party like it's 1603!
The Gekiranger/Kamen Rider Den-O theatrical extravaganza comes to theaters August 4th, 2007. You can check out the official site here, which will be updated with news about the movie as it comes out.

So far, what is known (minor spoiler warning ahead):
  • Gravure Idol Hoshino Aki will cameo in the film. She's the one in the pic with Den-O up there. According to the official site, she will be playing Princess Sen, the wife of Toyotomi Hideyori (son of Toyotomi Hideyoshi, the general who first united all of Japan.) Totally random, but I've been to his grave!
  • Ryôtarô & the crew will be going further than they've ever gone before, with at least a stop in the Edo/Tokugawa period. Hopefully, this movie will actually be in-continuity with the TV series, unless they feel the need to have Urataros die a crappy death in the first half hour of the movie, contradict the series by having Den-O's new form be introduced differently, and make Hana preparing to marry Ozaki. So yeah, let's all hope for an in-continuity movie this time.
  • As mentioned previously, there will be at least one movie-original Rider. No news yet on which other Riders/Forms appear in the film apart from Sword Form, although I'd say it's a pretty safe bet we'll see the other main ones in there too. And Kintaros better get to stomp around ancient Japan.
  • According to one fairly reliable source, Den-O will "face his greatest foe" in the film. Will it be another Rider, or an Imagin?

We'll find out this summer!

  4. I think it will be a rider too. I don't think an Imagin would go back so far.

Now a rider who wants to make something "right" is another story...
