Head's up: next week will see the introduction of the third main Imagin who will lead to Den-O gaining his Axe Form! More importantly, he speaks in
Kansai-Ben, which is an
incredibly significant detail to me, and probably, only me. Rock on!
Why's kansai-ben so significant?
ReplyDeleteI've often wondered what the significance was of the Kansai accent/dialect, since there have been a fair amount of characters in toku over the years that speak in it. Is it anything like having an American character with a Texas drawl?
ReplyDeleteI think some people call the kansai dialect a bit like a mix between a Brooklyn, New York accent and a Chicago gangster accent or something.
ReplyDeleteOhh I'm just tingling cause he's be talking in a Kansai accent!!
Putting aside my own personal bias for the Kansai dialect, I think it's neat to have more Kansai-speaking Riders, since so far we have... um, Nishiki?
ReplyDeleteThe Wikipedia article on Kansai-ben is a pretty good way to get the general idea of it:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kansai_ben
I've also seen it likened to a Southern/Western drawl (and I think some anime have even used this idea when dubbing Kansai-ben speakers.)
Enter Jiro Okamoto! I wonder if he'll be Axe-form's suit actor as well?
