Almost Famous

Oh, internet.

My thanks to fellow HJU poster Ryoutarou for alerting me to this amusing incident: a piece of my artwork wound up on the 101fwy (and later cowspot.net) Japanese image board under Heisei Tokusatsu pictures.

For real:

Wow.

Double Wow.

Yeah.

I guess with all the crazy rumors flying about that 2009's series is going to feature all the Heisei Riders appearing or whanot (I have not really been paying attention), anything's a potential "leaked pic" at the moment.

What's funny to me is how many people are taking it seriously, like it's a possible real thing. I feel quite humbled, actually. There's comments wondering why there's no Den-O or Kiva logos. Well, this was made in 2006, prior to either of those series. I actually did start working on an updated version with the Den-O mark last year.

Also, a lot of people wonder what the ∑ is doing there. Hmmmm, good question! Yes, this is from dear neglected Kamen Rider Sigma (which some may be happy to know is currently having its tenth episode written by me at the moment.) What exactly it is and what it all means aren't things I'm going to discuss just yet, but I do like one person's suggestion that the ∑ might be the "M" from "Masked Rider". Way to unintentionally foreshadow a plot point, dude!

So yeah, that's my exciting story of the day. It's not quite as cool as the time I ended up on Thai-Toku because then people knew who it was and where it was from, but oh well. Can't win them all.

Bonus: The unfinished villain version (one of a possible many):

SHOKKAAAAAAA!

  2. Congrats Iga-san! What's it like to have your 15 minutes of fame, when your artwork's been exposed to the Toku online community? Bemused, wonderful, surreal?

  4. The design that you did was actually too cool. I wouldn't wonder if it becomes a rumor source.
