I saw it the other day and just finally got around to finishing the review (editing and all that was a killer.) Pretty mixed thoughts on this one. Basically, everything we've seen of the Riders, Shocker, the action, the stuff blowing up... turned out to be great, but then there's this subplot...

ReplyDeletegood review(s). i agree with your assessments on the first movie, so i want to see this one, but why does Toei have to add unneeded subplots to these movies? i miss straightforward storytelling these days.

ReplyDeleteMaybe someone should do an edit of this movie. At times it felt like this movie was about 20-40 minutes a bit too long.
It would have been SOOO freaking cool if Erika Mori played the Chainsaw Lizard.
Mmm, I want to see this so badly. It's a shame that it was a little sloppy at times. If only they added Riderman they would have had enough material to skip the filler! Riderman THE NEXT....yeah!

NO~~~~~~~!!!! shit! thought toei'd be smarter this time & do away with the crappy subplots... plus, i never like much about horrors for starters... geez, lets keep our fingers crossed that the sequel won't have anymore nonsense like this one. & hope that after they make enough movie classic reimagining, they'll make a classic reimagining on TV...
