I Love the 90's Part 2

More than you ever wanted to know about Kamen Rider ZO.

Also, on a completely different note, the ad for the upcoming H.G.C.O.R.E. Part 3 (and no, I still don't have any of #1 yet, making it my most-wanted item of 2007 so far) reveals that, among other things, there's an upcoming "Rival Rider" for Den-O (possibly/probably the second one we've all seen/heard about) and HOLYCRAP Zariganna!

Other figures are Den-O Sword Form, Gun Form, V3, & Riderman (in 3 varieties... why do they have to do that in every set now?)

  1. Oh, ZO. I felt that it was a little rushed, and that the actor was kind of robotic, but I enjoyed it. I liked the suit and bike (both of which I prefer over J's designs), and the last Henshin sequence with the camera zoom was very cool.

It was sad that he got shafted in the Kamen Rider World short, with Shadow Moon going Ultraman on us and all.

I thought that Riderman's arms were interchangeable, but they're individual figures? That's crazy. At least they could give us different poses :)

  2. Man, I didn't really like ZO, mainly because of its VERY simplistic plot. Save the boy, and that's it.

When that life form started talking in that boy's voice, I laughed while being disgusted at the same time...

  3. I think it's like, you get two interchangeable arms (one gloved one and one special Cassette Arm) and there's 3 different variations of that. I'm not a fan of the "rare 1/3 distribution" technique because it makes it harder to get a complete set, but whatever works for them, I guess.

I like ZO, aside from the simple plot, it has a cool atmosphere to it. The 90's was really the "dark ages" for Kamen Rider, so I think it was one of the better things to come out of that decade.

  4. I like ZO, really. But, i think the movie need at least 30 or maybe 45 minutes more of footage for developing the story and the characters. For me, is a bit too fast, but well, this movie is for me the final step before turn me in a Kamen Rider fan from head to feet.

And, as says Igadevil-san, the atmosphere is cool, and to me, has a "something" without form what gives ZO a feeling of good and enjoyment.

Thnkas for all your work, Igadevil-san!
