The long-awaited, sometimes-glimpsed (if you saw the leaked toy catalog or filming photos) "complete" form for Decade. Which I'm sure is going to have people talking just as much as the normal Decade design did.
And perhaps even more controversial...
A new form for Kuuga? Like Ultimate Form, coming in a red and black-eyed variety? Not really sure what to say about that. It would seem to indicate that Kuuga will be playing a bigger role in the series soon... unless they just do this for one episode until he trips over a pile of unsold DX Diendrivers.

Yup. A new take on Doctor Shinigami, played by Ishibashi Renji (that's grandpa on the TV show) and a new spin on Ambassador Hell. The color scheme's pretty cool, and I love the fact that they went all the way and gave him the old-style helmet, which has always been slightly comical in a very badass way.
Now where's Zol & Black?

ReplyDeleteI think the only problem why Decade's Complete Form looks so stupid is because he became a literal walking card display case. If there would be a shot wherein all those cards disappear (perhaps in a Final Attack Ride), I think it might actually look badass.
ReplyDeleteAnd I agree, this might be just one of the things Yuusuke Onodera is an improvement of Godai's Kuuga: this Rising Ultimate looks so fearsome!
Now I wonder if they will release new "Rising Final Forms" for the other Heisei primary Riders: you know, this show being subconsciously merchandise-driven and all...

ReplyDeleteBughawBagwis not to disillusion you but, damned near all shows like this are merchandise driven. I lived in japan for 4 years mid to late 70's, and even as far back as then it was like that.
And it's far from subconscious, quite the opposite in fact.

ReplyDeleteI think that is already a given with these type of shows. I just wonder if this "Rising Ultimate" form of Kuuga is merely a plot mech that indicates his bigger part, or if other main Riders would also do so as a plot mech, or just fanservice.
Now I just wish they don't drown into the merchandise-hungry level.
