Just in time for his return/revival/revamp/re-something in Kamen Rider THE NEXT, the big V to the 3 will once more be on video store shelves in Japan in single-disc releases similar to the re-release of the original Kamen Rider series not too long ago. Both series originally came out in limited-edition box sets, and up until now V3's been out of print and thus unavailable in Japan.
The Kamen Rider V3 releases are as follows:
-Volumes 1, 2 & 3 (episodes #1~#18) will be released on 10/21.
-Volumes 4, 5 & 6 (episodes #19~#36) will be released on 11/21
-Volumes 7, 8 & 9 (episodes #37~#52) will be released on 12/7.
So in other words, one day for the next three months sees the release of 3 action-packed volumes. Of course, at 40 bucks a pop, and 9 volumes total, the whole series will come out to over $300... so if you live in a Region 1-friendly zone, you might want to settle for the nice R1 set that's been around all this time. The one with all 52 episodes, tons of extras, and even some material contributed by me! Not that I'm trying to promote it or anything.
But it is like, half as much as all the individual volumes will run you. Also, it has an interview with Miyauchi. The original R2 set had an interview with Miyauchi AND Ono "Junko" Hizuru, and we all know I'd kill a man stone dead for that. But sadly, that particular extra probably won't be re-released. But at least the R1 set has Miyauchi, and it's even subtitled in English!
Not that I'm trying to promote it or anything.
