You cried because of my Spoiler Warning!

Den-O Axe Form is unable to finish off Ivy Imagin, because Kintaros wants to find out more about the motive behind Kasumi's father's contract. Hana chastises him for this, believing that in not destroying the Imagin now, he is taking responsibility for what it could/will do. Kintaros leaves Ryôtarô's body, unwavering in his beliefs.
Ryôtarô & Hana visit Kensaku, Kasumi's father. He has severed ties with his daughter and appears to want nothing more to do with her. Ryôtarô believes he is the mystery man who sent her the Baby's Breath flowers, a suggestion that makes him hesitant. He realizes that the Ivy Imagin appearing to him was not, in fact, a dream (as everyone seems to always believe.) There's some bickering on the Den-Liner, and Airi makes another bizarre drink for Ryôtarô. But let's jump to the important stuff.
On the way to the airport (for a collection show in Paris), Kasumi's car is attacked by Ivy Imagin. Ryôtarô & the crew are following, Kintaros jumps into action, possessing Ryôtarô. In his efforts to stop the Imagin, KinRyôtarô ends up chucking Kasumi's car into the ocean after everyone has bailed out. This is an awkward moment, because at the same time Kensaku shows up and suddenly, no one acts like what just happened was strange at all (and I suppose in the Riderverse, it isn't.)
Kasumi's father confesses that his true motivation was not a desire to see Kasumi's modeling career ruined, but merely to see her once again. As Ryôtarô guessed, he was indeed the one who sent the flowers in the beginning. As usual, the Imagin twisted his words and "I want to see my daughter again" became "I want to see my daughter again by having her career destroyed." With the contract completed, Ivy Imagin goes into the past, and all Hell breaks loose in 2006 yet again. Kintaros now realizes the consequences of his earlier actions, and vows to make amends somehow.
Once back in the past, he takes control of Ryôtarô once again and instead of fighting the Imagin directly, tries to change the past. This ticks off the Owner, as this goes against all the rules, and he threatens to have Kintaros expelled. Despite smashing through a lot of stuff (hilarious scene), KinRyôtarô is unable to convince Kasumi that he met her in the future since this is the past and... well, you know what I mean. So he leaves Ryôtarô and accepts his fate. Our main man, however, requests Kintaros one last time to help him defeat Ivy Imagin, which is just what Axe Form does.
Despite this happy turn of events, things still look grim for our ursine friend. That is, until the Den-Liner stops back where episode #11 began. The Owner reveals that Kintaros' actions in the past changed a few things. Ryôtarô and Kasumi never met, as instead she ran out in time to see her father bringing the flowers like he did in the first place. Father and daughter reconcile, and the Owner decides to let Kintaros stay on the train. Everybody's happy, aside from Momotaros who basically got completely shafted in this one.

What We Learned This Episode:
- Hana really does have a lot of clothes. She wears at least 3 seperate outfits, not including the usual one seen on the Den-Liner (which she changes into twice) in this episode alone. I really want to see the Den-Liner Wardrobe one of these days.
- Airi is secretly trying to kill Ryôtarô. Hey, how else do you explain all those so-called "healthy" drinks?
- Ozaki is not a good driver.
- People picking up cars and throwing them into the water unaided is totally normal. Also, people changing their accent and entire hairstyle instantly is totally normal.
- Nearly 9 & a half minutes in, and the monster is already going back to the past.
- 2006 really sucked, apparently (this one will probably come up every other episode.)
- Wait... Ivy Imagin can shoot lasers?
- KINRYÔTARÔ SMASH!
- Oh, Owner, you so crazy! Admittedly, he showed a nicer side than usual in this one, but he's still on the road to being the next American
IdolRiku. - Imagin Snot... lovely.
Screenies:
The long-awaited debut of the breakdancing Crackhead!Ryôtarô & Gun Form. LAWLZ BIG GUN!1!
You know, if they were smart, once they find out who the contract holder is, they could just hop on the liner and go to the beginning of the episode to avoid any amount of damage the Imagin may cause...hell, catch them before the contract is fully formed!
ReplyDeleteBut then again, that would be Ryuki over and over again, wouldn't it? =P
Man, what is it with Toei and 2006?
ReplyDeleteShame we don't see the Imagin get attacked by the Worms...

Doesnt the whole thing where they change accent and hairstyle just supposed to be a visual representation for the viewer? In episode 9, doesnt Hana think Momotaros has possessed Ryotaro when he's about to fight all the guys at the dojo? I haven't watched it in a while but I swear I remember that...
ReplyDeleteyeah i think i agree with anonymous. imagin cldnt be tt stupid. i think ryotaro seems normal to everyone else.
ReplyDeleteWell, the thugs from the first episode seemed to notice when he changed the first time, and Ozaki (not to mention all those girls) noticed when he changed from normal to UraRyôtarô (in Urataros' debut episode), so I think it's more a matter of when it's conveninet (plot-wise) to have someone to notice (or not notice.)
ReplyDelete"People picking up cars and throwing them into the water unaided is totally normal. Also, people changing their accent and entire hairstyle instantly is totally normal."
ReplyDelete-quoted for truth! :P
