Den-O Episode #5: "Want to try being fished by me?"

As soon as the Spoiler Warning begins, it's the climax!

Following a recap of last episode, Momotaros is chillin' on the Den-Liner and subect to Naomi's latest Momotaros-inspired coffee creation. He smells the presence of another Imagin, but Hana is convinced it's just him. The Owner is also there, but mercifully only has a few lines before the credits role. Thank God! Oh yeah, and another Imagin light is following Ryôtarô around.

Save it, kiddo

A kid named Daiki is bummed about sitting on the sidelines while the rest of his soccer team plays, and sulks off towards the inevitable plot role he'll fulfill (re: Imagin victim) and in the process kicks a stone right into Ryôtarô's head! Our main man is knocked off his bike, but the worst is yet to come. The pursuing Imagin sets off a chain reaction by surprising some truck drivers who swerve to avoid a downpour of sand, which causes boxes to come tumbling down on Daiki and Ryôtarô, injuring them both. You know, typical day for Ryôtarô. The Imagin enters his body, causing Momotaros to freak out. Wouldn't you?

Daiki is taken to the hospital by paramedics, and Ryôtarô suddenly has blue eyes, which isn't that bizarre considering what's happened to him in the past. He is also hospitalized, and as the news reaches Airi, Ozaki & Miura (the main two dudes who are always hitting on her; I bothered to learn their names since they'll probably become important later on in the series) see this as a good chance to win her over by visiting her lil' bro. They concoct a plan (actually trying to trick each other) and decide Miura will get the gifts while Ozaki goes to the hospital.

Double...um...non-Riders

Daiki's in the hospital, blah blah blah he's gonna get possessed by the Imagin-of-the-week, you know the drill.

Ozaki arrives to find Ryôtarô, now possessed by a new Imagin, smooth-talkin' the ladies (nurses and female patients alike) and charming the pants off everything in general. Ozaki is quite impressed.

Can we be friends?

Momotaros realizes Ryôtarô has been possessed by another Imagin, as their connection has been broken. He is now unable to locate Ryôtarô as well (listen as Hana calls him "Momo".)

Back in the hospital, Ozaki seeks to figure out Ryôtarô's sudden change of character, recalling their encounter in episode #2. Ryôtarô convinces Ozaki to lend him his wallet, since he "needs some cash" and strolls out of the hospital.

Crusty!

Daiki is contacted by Crust Imagin, who has one of the oddest-sounding names I've ever seen in a Rider series (he's based on a crab.) The Imagin asks for the boy's wish, which pretty obviously is going to have something to do with the soccer team.

Miura, carrying a fruit basket (subtle commentary much?) finds the still-possessed Ryôtarô, who suddenly begins talking to thin air- in reality, Momotaros, who takes possession of Ryôtarô's body, forcing the other Imagin out. An argument begins as the confused Miura looks on.

Ummm....hi

As Ozaki wonders what Ryôtarô could be doing with his wallet, Hana appears from a cupbord (serving as a transdimensional gateway), looking for Ryôtarô. Back outside, the other Imagin takes control of Ryôtarô again, content with his current body. The two Imagin bicker back and forth until Ryôtarô himself reasserts control, forcing them both out....man, this sounds weird out loud, doesn't it?

Momo vs. Ura

Hana shows up, sees that Ryôtarô's okay, and both of them catch sight of Crust Imagin, and give chase. Back on the Den-Liner, Momotaros and the new, blue Imagin size each other up as Naomi looks on, impressed. She says that going by Ryôtarô's logic, the new Imagin would be like Urashima Tarō, and Momotaros calls him "Urataros". Momotaros & Urataros continue their squabbling, until Momotaros is summoned by Ryôtarô.

Ryôtarô, weakened by having two Imagin possessing him, arrives with Hana in time to stop Crust Imagin from attacking some of Daiki's teammates. Ryôtarô transforms to Den-O Sword Form, and attacks Crust Imagin. The other Kaijin states "Fighting you isn't my goal!" and dodges rather than fights back. Knocked from the air by Den-O, Crust Imagin is momentarily stunned, and the Rider prepares to finish him off. But the stress of Urataros' possession has weakened Ryôtarô to the point where he can't perform the finisher, and Crust Imagin escapes as Den-O reverts to Ryôtarô.

Judgement ti...er, forget it

Back on the Den-Liner, Momotaros, ticked at his loss, gets in a big fight with Urataros. Their rumble threatens to destroy the entire cabin! Maybe we'll be lucky and they'll injure the Owner somehow...

Imagin-on-Imagin Violence!

To Be Continued...
